Likatek has been the key factor in
the rapid development of the club scene in Kosovo, crossing a
long way from the murky passages of squat parties, through radio
hosting and up to becoming the architect of the world renowned "Episode"
series.
Brought up under the influence of electronic music throughout
the continent, he returned to Kosovo to nurture this sound,
initially through the radio show “Electric Afternoon”, hosted at
an underground oriented radio station, Urban FM. Including live
DJ sets, information and on air discussions with the audience,
the show quickly took a cult status and became a milestone for
the electronic music scene in Kosovo. Subsequently, encouraged
by Urban FM, he released a trilogy of mixes, starting with the
ethereal “Human”, followed by the expressive “Shades” and
closing with the obscure “Pure”, which received wide recognition
and resulted in numerous local residencies, notably in
“Underclub”, “The Base” and “2000”.
Responding to the need to further promote the growing scene,
Likatek started the internationally recognized series of events
named “Episode”, which in turn became popular for its
consistency and the charisma of the resident and guest DJs –
granting Kosovo a must-visit status on the international
clubbing maps and earning it the name of one of the most solid,
compact scenes in the region.
Since then, Likatek has been a notable part of European
electronic music landscape, with regular appearances in some of
the main international events and festivals, playing alongside
Mills, Smith, Acquaviva, Pappa, Slam, Deetron, Feos, Agoria,
Preach, Emerson, Beyer, Umek, Carola, Vigorito, Fischer, Murphy,
Felipe, Nasty, Onionz, Richards, Mothersole, Haris, and many
others. |
