After a chance meeting at a record
label head office in Germany, Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and
Stefan Bossems (Bossi) have created and inspired some of the
most influential music ever to hit our dance floors over the
past decade.
Today, Cosmic Gate are rated number 23 in the online directory
of the worlds leading DJs at DJlist.com whilst remaining a
permanent fixture, positioned for three consecutive years inside
the DJ Mag top 100 confirming Cosmic Gate amongst the elite of
dance music’s most famous and popular DJ duos.
During the trance boom of the late nineties no DJ set would have
been complete without the sounds of Cosmic Gate. Original
productions such as The Drums, Back To Earth, Exploration of
Space, The Truth, Raging and the unforgettable Fire Wire, which
reached #9 in the UK charts and dominated DJ record boxes, homes
and car stereos across the globe for the majority of the synth
filled millennium year.
In Germany the act have seen unequivocal fame with no less than
seven chart top 40 singles to their name along with two artist
albums ‘Rhythm & Drums’ and ‘No more Sleep’ rocketing their way
into the album charts.
Success after success with their own original productions has
been accompanied by an impressive repertoire of Cosmic Gate
remixes, for artists including Tiesto (Urban Train), Ferry
Corsten (Punk), Blank & Jones (DFF), Svenson & Gielen (Answer
the Question) and Vanessa Mae (White Bird) to name but a few.
Behind the decks, Cosmic Gate can be found week in week out
performing at the worlds leading clubs from Velfarre in Tokyo to
Glow in Washington and from The Gallery in London to Sydney’s
massive Home club. European festivals such as the legendary
Nature One, Mysteryland and Trance Energy have paved the way for
the Cosmic Gate DJ experience to be appreciated in full effect.
Regular DJ appearances on every continent have given Cosmic Gate
the chance to reach their truly global fan base.
Cosmic Gate have always been, first and foremost about their
fans. The ability to adapt their musical style with the ever
changing face of dance music has seen the Cosmic Gate sound
develop and move on from the harder edge trance of the 90ies
through to their current, more progressive yet still driving
energetic music style.
In Summer 2005 Cosmic Gate released Back 2 Back vol. 2, the
second part of their mix compilation series distributed through
the worlds leading trance label Black Hole Recordings. A superb
testament to their popularity with sales figures continuing to
soar into the thousands.
Now Cosmic Gate are looking forward to release their third
artist album named Earth Mover, arguably their best yet.
Comprising a mixture of vocal and instrumental tracks the album
combines progressive elements with trance, techno, tech-house,
electro and house. The thirteen track artist album will not only
include their single hits Ultra Curve, Bilingual and I Feel
Wonderful (feat. Jan Johnson), it also features their latest
single Should’ve Known (feat. Tiff Lacey). The longplayer Earth
Mover delivers a phenomenal blend of driving cool club tracks, a
certain for airplay from the worlds other leading DJs and set to
edge Cosmic Gate in the same direction they have been moving
throughout the past decade – right to the top. |
