Born 1975 in Innsbruck/Austria, Michael Mishima’s first contact with music were The Beatles, but soon he was more attracted by the strong and especially electronic-orientated disco music. After buying some disco-mega mixes he soon was on his way to discover the sound hidden under the surface of common and popular disco-music. Interested in newer styles of electronical music he bought his first records and used two cheap record players for mixing. They didn’t have pitch control so Michael had to use his fingers to slow down the record or speed it up. In doing so he used to listen to his first house tunes for hours mixing them in various directions and combinations.

During his High school years Michael Mishima satisfied his appetite for music by taking Guitar and Piano lessons. After finishing school and starting to study law he started to DJ at private parties and small bars. Years passed and at the age of 25 he played in several bars and clubs without having any big ambitions to focus any deeper on DJing.

During a summer vacation on Ibiza he experienced sets of various well-known DJs and was overwhelmed by the versatileness of electronic music. Back in Vienna he quickly realized that good sound, especially in Vienna’s clubs, was difficult to find. To little DJs were following their assignment to on one hand give the party-crowd a good time and on the other hand educate the audience’s musical taste by presenting new styles and trends. House had become mainstream.

All this matters made Michael Mishima to set his mind to direct more attention to DJing and making a mission his personal motivation: To create a new definition and feeling towards electronic music and spread the fascination of club and danceculture.

Since then Michael Mishima has played sets in Japan, Hungary and Austria conveying his definition of good music to the party-crowd. Recently he has started to work on own musical projects, including the cooperational project - Berbesso and Michael Mishima - with his friend and colleague Berbesso.
