Cedric Desmarets aka C-Dwyck was
born in Belgium. He was always interested in electronic dance
music in general and djing in particular. He realized very
quickly that the music played on commercial radios and clubs was
lacking in relief and sensitivity.
Advised by already initiated buddies, C-Dwyck attended more
underground clubs such as La Bush and La Rocca. Legendary
Belgian DJs like Marko, George'S and Phi-Phi allowed him to
discover new musical territories. Actually, tribal rhythms and
bewitching melodies were the leitmotiv of these DJs. Gradually,
his tastes became more refined ; the desire to be a DJ himself
grew.
Soon, he bought his first turntables and became a regular
customer of records stores. The meeting with the authors of the
progressive anthem “Apollo Vibes”, Pole Folder & CP, was a
determining factor in C-Dwyck’s young career. He realized that
they had the same vision : to promote a music which is the
maturity of trance and electronic music in general, a music
which combines groove, sounds and melody, a music for the
dancefloor but also for the mind, in short : PROGRESSIVE MUSIC.
Sasha, John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo are his references in
the progressive scene but he finds also other sources of
inspiration closer to him in his Belgian friends Yeniz Mana and
Ced-N.
Today, all those influences enable him to have his own eclectic
deep dark and groovy sound; which helps him to be very
appreciated. |
