Starting out as a DJ in Toronto in the late 90’s, Julien has become an integral part of his home town scene. Having held residencies at a number of iconic clubs such as the legendary Mad Bar, the world renown Guvernment and, Toronto afterhours favourite, the Comfort Zone, he has gained a reputation for energizing dance floors and introducing new music to his audiences. In 2008 Julien broke out of his local scene and was invited to play for The BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, along side some of the world’s best talent. His memorable beach club set at the event in 2008 led to a residency with the annual international music festival as well as opening slots for world class DJ’s like Lee Burridge and Pablo Ceballos.

After attending audio engineering school in 2006, Julien set up a home studio and started making his own music. Since that short time ago, Julien has released music on international imprints like Rawthentic Music and Bosphorus Underground and has received support from the likes of Dirty Vegas, Ahmet Sendil, and Carlo Lio to name a few. Loreto tracks such as “Musica”, “Don’t Stand So Close” and “Good Old Days” have appeared on various DJ charts including the globally competitive Beatport top 100. Other tracks like “Tricks for Free” and “State of Mind” can be found on mix compilations based out of Europe and South America respectively.

If you catch one of Julien’s DJ sets, it’s hard not to notice his passion and excitement for the music but, as he will tell you, his mission has only just begun. The near future has Julien playing events in Montreal and Mexico as well as the release of new music and remixes on some of the globes most respected underground labels. As for the future future…we’ll just have to wait and see.
