Mario Marques was born in Africa, but journeyed to his parent’s home country of Portugal where it all began for this music enamorato. Born into a family of musicians with strong influences of Disco, Soul, Funk, Jazz, R&B and Latin rhythm flavors, sounds that nurtured him in utilizing these assets as the soul of his music making. From the nerve center in Portugal, with residencies at clubs such as: Queen's Lisbon, Locomia and Kiss Club to Iceland, Brazil, UK, Switzerland, France, Spain and the U.S. he has played the world over. For good measures, he's also shared the turntable limelight with contemporaries such as: David Morales, Erick Morillo, Frankie Knuckles, Roger Sanchez, Lil Louis,Junior Sanchez, Harry Romero, Kevin Yost, Deep Dish, Bob Sinclar, Ted Patterson and Masters at Work to name a few. Mario also participated in events with names like Barbara Tucker, Duanne Harden, Jocelyn Brown, Bjork, India and many more. As a DJ, his style has to be described as HOUSE. Pure House music with no boundaries, making his sets a true blissful journey. Behind the turntables is where he still enjoys himself the most, and he looks forward to play and take music all over the globe.
